Crypto Regulation Watch in the US

Last week was a Major Week for Crypto Regulation in the U.S.:

✅ Paul Atkins confirmed as SEC Chair

This appointment marks a clear directional shift under the Trump administration for a lighter-touch regulatory approach.

📄 SEC approved options on ETH ETFs

After months of delay, ETH options are live.

🧾 DeFi tax rule repealed

Trump signed a resolution nullifying a Biden-era IRS rule that would’ve required DeFi platforms to report user transactions via Form 1099. Now? It’s gone.

🚫 Crypto enforcement unit disbanded by DOJ

Perhaps the most surprising twist: The Department of Justice closed its specialized crypto crimes division. Could it signal a step back on crypto accountability?
